The Great Gatsby?

If your friend happens to be your teacher, then yeah I could see that conversation happening. I dont have site, but i would recommend wikipedia. Heres a few things to focus on. First the temperance movement got the probibition act ped (they didnt win, it was repealed) because they're beliefs were heavily influenced by their christian faith. This is also why conservative groups in america have always had so much influence. They can use christianty to put pressure on politians because christians make up the majority of voters. They way it affected america was that it created a criminal enterprise where they wasn't one before. What made things worse was that the criminals werent really scene as criminals. Most people didnt have a problem with drinking so they didnt despise bootleggers as they did other criminals like murders and bank robbers. Im not sure why the titled this with a reference to the great gatsby, while he is a successful bootlegger in the book the point is more about new money versus old money.
