Torture-induced hallucinations?

I know it's sort of a morbid question, but I need a term for this concept. Here's an example: if you show a man one light and ask him how many there are, he'll say one. If you torture him every time he gives that answer and tell him that there are two, eventually, his mind will produce another one so that he believes he is seeing two. Any ideas?
